Gabriela Velez, pictured right with Carol Rainey, received her Associates Degree from Mission Early College High School (MECHS) and is now attending the University of Texas at El Paso. She is studying to become a lawyer and maintains an overall GPA of 3.50. She read the essay that won her the scholarship to the membership.
Stephanie Telas is currently attending the El Paso Community College, studying to become a teacher. Besides her undergraduate studies, she is a substitute teacher in the Fabens School District. Stephanie maintains a 3.50 GPA. This year marks the 5th Annual Scholarship presentations from SFA IX.
