Chaplains Corner - February 2010

This is from Chaplain John Szilvasy, our SF qualfied Chapter Chaplain, and his monthly message from our newsletter:

We live in a time when many people are seriously rethinking the choices they made that were based on the information that was available at the time of their choices. Sometimes the information was unknowingly too one-sided and not examined closely because everyone seems to not care about information from other perspectives. Sometimes personal biases and loyalties blind us to not be concerned about the truthfulness of the information and we fail to anticipate all possible consequences. After we choose, we develop a plan of action to achieve the desired results of our choices. Then, we must stay sensitive to changes in the accuracy and reliability of the information we had used to make our choice. Sometimes unanticipated consequences of our past choices drop on us like a ton of bricks. These unanticipated consequences force us to review our choice with a different set of anticipated consequences. When this happens we must develop and execute a new alternate plan to achieve a modified desired result.

I could be talking about the politicians we elected and the mess they have created, but instead I choose to talk about your choice of where will you be spending your after-life? Is death the end of everything and you cease to be? Has the choice of making yourself the god for your life led you to realize the consequence of spending eternity in hell? Finally, if you have chosen or choose to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and repent confess your sins to God, then God promises you peace and joy in this life and eternal life with Him in heaven after your death. It is never too late to change your mind. Hope to see you in heaven.

Chaplain John
