Chapter Notes - End of the Year 2010

Chapter wrote a $400 check for wreaths which included the money from individual members. The annual dedication ceremony started at 1000 hrs on 11 December 2010 at FT Bliss Cemetery. Ike was not available for the POW wreath so Roy Aldridge (POW Korea) placed the POW/MIA wreath - see picture below.

Wreaths Across America: Debbie Torres ran the project with the CAP once again.

President Pete: Greetings all and welcome to 2011!!! I hope the holidays were good to you and that 2011 be even better. We had a great year in 2010 and I’m looking forward to this New Year. Some of the major events that this small organization accomplished in 2010; 5th annual John McLaughlin Golf Tournament, 3rd annual Jerry Rainy Scholarship, and the 16th annual Christmas Food Drive.
I want to thank Rod Raulston and his lovely wife Rose for their help with last years Christmas food drive. Between those two we collected over 4000 non-perishable can and box goods which helped make 70 boxes for El Paso families. We also donated over 500lbs of food goods to the Chihuahita community. A special thanks to our COL Gus for his contribution. Gus and his lovely wife Martha donated 70, 5lb hams for each box. This is the first year we were able to give more than can and box good which gave the families just that little bit more. Thanks Gus and Martha!!!

Between Ike and Al Hobbs, we had a blast at last years Christmas party. They coordinated the whole event to include our Elvis (AKA Doug) Doug evidently had a blast with us because after his hour’s entertainment he hung around to enjoy the evening and even sang a few more songs for us. He also donated an hour’s worth of entertainment for the raffle which Jeff Davis won. On the same note I want to thank Leo and Chuy for their donations for the raffle. They came out of pocket for all the Native American gift’s that were raffled off, Thank you Leo and Chuy!!!
