Special Forces Association Chapter IX member Dr. Adolfo Fernandez Jr., M-5915, passed away 15 December 2012 here in El Paso from a heart attack.
Born March 2, 1951 Adolfo joined the Army in 1970, completing Airborne School, SF Medical Course and SF training before being honorably discharged in 1976.
Adolfo Fernandez earned a Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration, and a Masters and Doctorate in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and serving as the Assistant Principal at El Paso High School at the time of his untimely death at the age of 61.
He leaves behind those who loved him the most, his wife, Paula; his daughters Iris Muniz (Blas), Myra Velasquez (Arturo), and DeAnna O'Reilly (Neil); grandchildren Alyssa, Ian, Ava, and Emilio; his mother and father; five brothers Juan, Roberto, Daniel, Ricardo, and Ramon; and five sisters Martha, Esther, Emilia, Lourdes, and Rosalia. Adolfo will be Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Rest in Peace Brother.
