2015 Jerry P. Rainey Memorial Scholarship Winners

Special Forces Association Chapter IX, the Isaac Camacho Chapter, hosts an annual scholarship for local college students. Named after Jerry P. Rainey a long time member and past president of this Chapter. Jerry, a Korean War and Vietnam veteran, was known for his service to others.

He succumbed to Leukemia, a result of his time in Vietnam, in March 2007. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Tammy and her husband Gil, daughter Stacy and her husband Jerry, son John and his wife Julie, six grandchildren, his family in the Special Forces Brotherhood.



The Chapter is honored to continuing recognition, this is the 8th annual award, of Jerry by presenting deserving college students each year with checks to assist in the continuation of their education. Nothing is more fitting to honor Jerry Rainey than to help college students.
 

Brigadier General Jon S. Lehr, the outgoing Commanding General of Joint Task Force North was this year's guest presenter. The picture at right is BG Lehr and Carol Rainey presenting the scholarship award to Roxana Stubbemann.

This year's Scholarship winners are:

Roxana Stubbemann, a Speech-Language Pathoogy major at at the Univesity of Texas at El Paso.

Diego Lopez, a Nursing major at the Univesity of Texas at El Paso.

Marisa Camacho, a Account, Business and Economics major at El Pas Community College.
