TAPS - SFA Chapter IX Remembers It's Fallen from 2013

Special Forces Chapter IX - the Isaac Camacho Chapter - remembers it's members who have gone ahead in the past year.


Adolfo Fernandez – M 5915.  On 15 December 2012, Adolfo Fernandez had a massive heart attack and passed away. He was 61. Adolfo was a long time “silent” member of Chapter 9 . . . he always paid dues on time but rarely attended functions. El Paso High School has a memorial for him (he was Assistant Principal). He became Airborne in October 1970. Adolfo graduated from the SF Medical Course in November 1971 and served with as an instructor at the SF Medic course from 1972-1973. He also served in the Infantry. He is survived by his wife, Paula and his daughter DeAnna. Adolfo was interred at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.



Sigurd (Sig) Bue – Non SFA Member. COL (RET) Sigurd (Sig) Bue died in El Paso, TX on 1 January 2013 at the age of 91. He was an El Paso resident for 42 years. Sig was a WWII veteran and served in Special Forces from the beginning in the 1950’s until his retirement in 1969. He was in the 1st SF and the 10th SF and helped form other units. In 1940 he became an Eagle Scout Throughout his military career and beyond, he was passionate about Scouting. He served in numerous positions and was recognized as Distinguished Commissioner in 1975. Finally he received the 2008 National Silver Beaver Award at the 2009 Yucca Council Dinner. He is survived by his wife Kinu Bue and is interred at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery.



Robert E. Dasch – M-1594.    MAJ (RET) Robert E. Dasch passed away on 20 January 2013. He joined SFA 9, but because of his health, was never able to attend a meeting. He had a heart attack in his sleep. MAJ Dasch was born on 11 March 1947. Bob served in Viet Nam with the 5th SF, was the commander of Fort AP Hill, VA. He was the Active Duty XO of 1/11 SF (USAR) in Newburgh, NY. He also served with the 7th SF. His awards include Bronze Star, Purple Heart, MSM, ARCOM, Vietnam Service Medal, Master Blaster, Scuba, Halo, Vietnamese Airborne wings and at least 2 other countries. He is survived by his wife Cynthia Ann Dasch, his daughter Stacey Pardue and his son Robert Dasch of Charlotte, NC. His services were held in Myrtle Beach, Florida. Some of his ashes were scattered at Arlington.



Richard C. Cobbs – A-4074.  SFA 9 Member Richard Cobbs passed away on 4 March 2013. Richard was an MI officer. He served in Vietnam with the 441st MI Det and was attached to the 1st SFG for 2 1/2 years. Richard also served with the 5th Group. He retired a LTC. Richard was an active member of Chapter 9 for about 2 years and always a friendly face at our functions. Cancer took him suddenly. He is survived by his wife Linda Cobbs and was laid to rest at Arlington.
