Chapter Meeting Notes 16 July 2011

6th Annual John McLaughlin Memorial Golf Tournament: Al Hobbs and Ike Camacho Chair/Co-chair. Golf Committee meetings at noon, just before the SFA 9 general meeting. Jerry Rainey Scholarship: Presentations will be in August at our normal monthly meeting, Steve Franzoni will present. Committee is Greg, Leo and Steve F.

Chapter IX Shirts, Coins, Mugs & Blazers: Shirts and mugs are available.

Teamhouse project is on hold for now.

SFCA 46 Wounded Warrior Cruise – We did not win the cruise but someone in El Paso did win $300.

Rest and Relaxation (R&R) Center FT Bliss: There are 30 AD Soldiers in the group and they need money for arts & crafts. Group meets Wednesday’s 0800-1130. Chapter will donate $200 a month until the end of the year.

Announcements and Good of the order: Announcement was made that Friday, 2 SEP, is Military Night at Fiesta De Las Flores At the Coliseum. Free admission to all Military and Vets.

Roy Aldridge is our point man with Korean War Vets (581-4725) concerning activities pertaining to the return, on 28 SEP of CPL Edwardo Pedregon's remains. Following airport ceremonies, Pedregon's remains will be transported by funeral home, escorted by Fort Bliss Honor Guard. 1 October Services will be held at the historic San Elizario Chapel, under the supervision of the San Elizario Geological Society. CPL Pedegron was MIA since NOV 1950 and his remains have been found. A big ceremony will take place and Louis Lopez gave the details since he works with Congressman Reyes. There are still 2 El Paso MIA’s from the Korean War.
