Shirley Jefferson, widow of CSM Iron Mike Jefferson, sent us an update on Cadet Kyle Murphy, the first recipient (2010) of the CSM Michael W. Jefferson ROTC scholarship who just graduated from Jump School.
From Shirley: "Wanted to share this with you. Feel free to drop Kyle a line. He is so proud to represent Mike. He said he kept his SF coin in his pocket the whole time at jump school. Also, share this with any one you think would want to drop Kyle a note, he loves all stories of Mike and army advice. Shirley"

From Kyle: "Graduated Airborne School on Friday, it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I loved every minute of it. Ground week went by fast and well as Tower week. After many PLFs and exits from the mock doors, as well as the 34 foot tower I was ready for Jump week. Had a hollywood jump on Monday, two on Tuesday, and a day combat jump on Wednesday. Finished up with a night jump on Wednesday night. The night jump was by far my favorite jump. What an experience that was. I now have a new level of patience after sitting in the harness shed for hours upon hours over the three days but I wouldn't have traded it for anything. Been back for a day and I already miss it. Kyle"
