LTG (ret) Jim Lovelace and his beautiful wife Gail flew in from the East Coast to present the award along with Mike's widow, Shirley Jefferson. We were not only honored with LTG and Mrs. Lovelace, but we were fortunate to have several members from the 3rd Special Forces Group. Not only that, but war correspondent and author Joe Galloway of "We Were Soldiers, Once and Young" fame also spoke at the ceremony and signed books.
